This website features a selection of images from "Butterflies". A body of 51 portraits of girls between the ages 9 to 13. It is a celebration of an age of transition, from little girls to adolescents.
The images are a collaboration between Teena and the girls. They chose their own clothes and were very involved in the decisions governing the environments they were photographed in. Additionally, they were asked to submit a piece of writing/art work to accompany their portrait. This gave them them the opportunity to contribute to the work in a very personal way.
